All Lit Up: Quirky, Curious, and Cultural Canadian Literature

We know the way in which our nation’s freshest, edgiest creative voices go from their page to your bookshelves has changed a lot over the last decade. Your beloved indie bookstore may have closed, you may be in a remote location without bricks and mortar options, and it’s tough to sort through everything on offer online to find the best books for you by homegrown authors.

LPG asked readers how they found out about and got their hands on new, local poetry. The response included a keen interest in a dedicated online resource for Canadian literature.

Please meet All Lit Up, the LPG’s response to readers’ requests, and the new hub of literary publishing in Canada!

With the financial support of the Canada Council, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Government of Canada, and proud collaboration with (a project of the Association of Canadian Publishers), eBOUND Canada, Stison Publishing Solutions, and BookNet’s BiblioShare, the LPG is launching our online bookshop and discoverability tool to enable readers to discover, buy, and collect CanLit. We debuted All Lit Up as an digital pop-up store, selling bundles of signed, curated books in December 2013, and it is now a permanent online space with a catalogue of over 6,000 print and ebooks from 41 participating publishers, and growing!

All Lit Up is a platform which highlights the diverse and emerging voices that Canadian publishers support, and also offers insightful, original, and engaging editorial content, featured titles, recommendations, find-a-book, and customized book lists. All Lit Up is the only online bookshop to offer exclusively Canadian literary titles directly to readers.

We’ll be officially launching the site on September 15th with new content added daily. Visit to browse our titles and see what books we’re chatting about. Join us on September 24th, when we celebrate All Lit Up with parties across the country (Toronto, Vancouver, St. John’s , and online everywhere!) You can participate in the launch in-person or on Twitter, which will feature CanLit trivia, readings, a signature cocktail, snacks, and prize packs.

We hope to see you there and can’t wait to help connect you to new authors and your next best read!
