Arc Poetry Magazine Announces the 2014 Lampman Award Shortlist

Arc Poetry Magazine announced the shortlist for the 2014 Archibald Lampman Award for an outstanding poetry book by an Ottawa area writer. The award will be presented alongside the City of Ottawa Book Awards by Mayor Jim Watson at a City Hall ceremony in October. This year's judges were Arleen Pare, E. Alex Pierce, and David O'Meara.

We'd like to offer our congratulations to our two members who received nominations this year:

Brick Books for Deanna Young's House Dreams, which explores adulthood, and the uneasy realm between the ease of youth and the mounting responsibilities of adulthood.

Signature Editions for Steven Artelle's Metropantheon, which was inspired by eastern myth and theology and seeks to add a little spiritual levity into western urban life.
