Toronto—August 6, 2025: The Board of Directors of the Literary Press Group of Canada (LPG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Perruzza as Executive Director (ED), effective September 1, 2025. Perruzza will succeed outgoing ED Laura Rock Gaughan, who is leaving the organization after six years in the role.
Norm Nehmetallah, LPG Chair and Publisher at Invisible Publishing, said, “Lauren’s broad skill set and dedication to our members make her an exceptional candidate to lead our association. Her deep knowledge of LPG programs and history will ensure continuity at a time of ongoing challenges to literary publishing.”
Perruzza brings a total of nearly eight years of LPG experience as Engagement Manager, where she has overseen the organization’s advertising project, professional development, and international rights representation, among other initiatives. She has also worked as a publicist for Raincoast Book Distribution and for a Toronto marketing agency. She completed Simon Fraser University’s MPub program and holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto.
“I’m humbled and honoured to assume the role of Executive Director at this organization that I love,” said Perruzza. “LPG members are some of the best publishers in the world, and to serve them in the interest of their continued survival, growth, and success means everything to me.”

About the LPG
Founded in 1975, the LPG is a not-for-profit association that represents Canadian-owned and -operated literary book publishers from coast to coast. Our members produce books by some of Canada’s most innovative and creative writers, giving readers access to diverse voices that have not been well represented in mainstream publishing. In addition to their cultural contributions, LPG members are small businesses that support local economies through the full range of their business activities, from editorial, design, and production to marketing, sales, and distribution.
The LPG advocates for members and for Canadian literary culture; manages a collective sales force; offers distribution services; operates the online book retailer All Lit Up; provides professional development and knowledge-sharing opportunities; and represents member publishers at national and international events. The full member list is found at https://lpg.ca/lpg-members. We gratefully acknowledge the ongoing support of our funders: the Canadian Government; Canada Council for the Arts; and the Ontario Arts Council.
